QLN Reference 9

Introduction
When tasked with expanding the Qln portfolio with a statement level speaker, Mats Andersen concluded there was only one meaningful direction to take. Separate the mid and lower frequency range into two parts. To accomplish this, we developed a new dedicated 7” Kevlar midrange and a 9” woofer to form a true 3-way loudspeaker system. The goal was to enhance several performance areas including further reduction of distortion and refining presence, timing, timbre, level of detail and micro/macro dynamics, regardless of level, scale, and complexity of program material. With the Reference 9 we managed to achieve these parameters and set a new performance standard for what we believe is possible for a speaker of this size.
